Why were we created? Biblically, The Bible explains that we are
the prize of creation, the apple of His eye, the only part of creation God
formed with such great care. We reflect His very image to this world as His sons and
daughters. This is so important for us to know and understand in order to live
out His will for us on earth. Many
people live out their lives with no understanding of their purpose and
therefore have no specific direction or vision for their lives.
1 Peter
2:9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for
his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellency of him who called you
out of darkness into his marvelous light.
Here are 3
simple points with scriptures to help us better understand our God-given
purpose:
1.
You were made
in His own image to reflect His glory (Genesis 1:26). Then God said, “Let us make man in our
image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea
and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth
and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
2.
He told us to
be fruitful, multiply, fill the Earth, and subdue it. We are significant to His
purpose (Genesis 1:28) And God blessed them. And God said to them,
“Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion
over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every
living thing that moves on the earth.”
3.
Our role to
be stewards of His glory is a direct connection to our identity as children of
God.
Most
people study about creation and focus on the fall more than God’s original
intent for our lives. Jesus came and died for our sins so we would be forgiven
and restored back to our original purpose and intent! He has given us a God-given
authority to bring glory to God. Each of us has a personal responsibility to
steward this special purpose in our lives. As we embrace His purpose for our
lives, our authority to reflect and spread His glory will increase.
Are you “ALIVE” for His glory? What
changes or adjustments do you need to make to fulfill your purpose. Start by proclaiming His greatness in your
life and give more of yourself over to Him. You are significant to God! God desires your
love to be poured out to Him….no one else can love God the specific way you
can. As you do this, you will begin to rule and reign with Him.
Psalm
18:1-3 “I love You, O Lord, my strength!
The Lord
is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;
My God, my strength, in whom I
will trust; my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
I will call
upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised;

Well said.....seems like a big topic to figure out. I like the way you said to just start focusing on his excellency and greatness! It keeps the focus on God instead of on us.
It's hard to believe that God desires our love....I mean, He's God and we are 1 in billions of people. But- the 1st commandment is to Love Him with all our heart, soul, and strength. This I believe brings glory to Him!! Thanks for the reminder.
Amen- it's not about building churches or ministries, but making Him famous.....right on the mark! Thanks!!
