We all know Jesus loved Mary – look how she worshiped. And we can understand why He loved Martha – after all, look how she served. But what about those of us who don’t know where we fit in the heart of God? Lazarus Awakening explores the tale of the third follower – Mary and Martha’s brother, Lazarus. We never hear him speak, we never see him serve. The only thing of any significance that Lazarus did was to die. And yet, the Bible is clear. Jesus loved Lazarus. And He loves you and me as well. Lazarus Awakening looks at different aspects of the story we find in John 11. We learn what it means to be a friend of God and begin recognizing the tombs we spend far too much time in. As we journey through the life, death, and resurrection of Lazarus, Weaver shows us how to unwind grave clothes – both our own as well as others – so that we can learn how to live resurrected.
We invite you to nestle into a great book of our keynote speaker for this fall's ALIVE conference November 9-10. To get a sneak peak, we invite you to read the bonus chapter she's provided for us called "What's Tripping You Up?" Love her analogy of how we too often walk around with "grave clothes" that can trip us up on our journey of faith. Jesus is calling us forth, to come alive in Him! Will be sharing a video blog on this bonus chapter featured here. Join us on the journey by reading the following 22 pages and engage with us through comments, Facebook or a private message of what you are learning/ discovering! To be "Alive in Christ", we all need to shed some grave clothes sisters:)
