What Have You "Seen and Heard"?

Can you imagine the faith, the boldness, the tenacity of the disciples Paul and John when they stood in front of the council 2000+ years ago? They were proclaiming the powerful name of Jesus Christ as Savior, Redeemer, Restorer, Healer... and that was upsetting the religious leaders big time! The story in Acts 4  shares in detail the controversy of the man healed in the name of Jesus. As they were being questioned, ridiculed and pressured to stop preaching and proclaiming their message, God had a different plan... Amidst great persecution, the Holy Spirit empowered these men with boldness to speak truth, grace and restoration power. They did not fear people's opinion's nor did they seek their approval either. Instead, they loved God and His creation so desperately, they were filled with God's presence to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ. Their personal witness to the reality of His resurrection was an undeniable message that could not stay silent. Women's Journey of Faith seeks to follow in their example by encouraging people of faith to share their stories.  Paul and John replied to the threats: "We cannot keep from speaking about what we have seen and heard" (Acts 20).

Are you a believer in Jesus Christ? If so, what have YOU seen and heard that confirms the reality of His Resurrection in YOUR life? What stories of faith are YOU called to proclaim to your friends, your family, your community and to the next generation? Easter's message of hope lives on through the stories of changed lives today. By sharing our stories, it not only encourages others in their walk with God, but it plants seeds of faith in those who don't know Jesus yet!

"But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect," (1 Peter 3:15)
