Why “ALIVE”?

The theme chosen for Women’s Journey of Faith this year is “Alive”The word “Alive” simply means to have life.

John 10:10b: "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."

Most people know the story of Jesus and how He went to the cross to die for our sins so one day we could go to heaven. However, we often don’t realize that Jesus Christ’s purpose through His death and resurrection was so we could have a full life in Him...now. If you read through chapter 10 in John it refers to many coming and calling people into some form of religion. However, Jesus Christ is the only great Shepherd who is not calling people into religion but life with Him…a full life with Him. Religion without life in Jesus Christ is lifeless, worthless, and futile.
Acts 4:12 “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

There are many religions with many names: Mohammed, Buddha, Krishna, Alla - but there is no salvation. Religion is man’s search for God, but Christianity is a living relationship with a real God that is alive and powerful.

Salvation (Greek definition): translated means salvation from sin, deliverance, help, health, welfare, victory, safety, wholeness, soundness, preservation, and complete freedom.
Salvation isn’t just about being saved from hell so we can go to heaven. It is about receiving the life of God and freedom in every area of our lives. This all starts to happen when you call out to the Saviour of the world and say, “Jesus, save me!” Then, walk with Him everyday and live in His presence so we could have the fullness of life He promises.

1 John 5:12 "The one having the Son has life. The one not having the Son of God does not have life."

If you are needing more of this fullness and freedom in any area of your life, call out to the only One who can bring it…..and `say, "Jesus – I need more of your life, including salvation from sin, deliverance, help, health, welfare, victory, safety, wholeness, soundness, preservation, and complete freedom. Help me to come ALIVE in you and experience this full life you promised!"

Why are we here?
What were we made for? To KNOW GOD!
What aim should we set ourselves in life? To KNOW God!
What is the best thing in life, bringing more joy, delight and contentment than ANYTHING else? The KNOWLEDGE of God!
Once you become aware that the main business that we are here for is to know God, most of life's problems fall into place of their own accord! The FOUNDATION OF ALL HAPPINESS......IS TO KNOW GOD, TO KNOW HIM INTIMATELY AND PERSONALLY!
