TW101 Week 7 "Total Makeover"

"There are plenty of women who would love to get a makeover for their cosmetics, hairstyle, or wardrobes. But there probably aren’t as many who would want a makeover for their thoughts and attitudes. After completing week seven in True Woman 101, watch this twenty-minute conversation between authors Nancy Leigh DeMoss, Mary Kassian, and their friends as they talk about how to cultivate true womanly beauty."- TW101

Note from Jodi: This week's study is a fascinating discovery on a woman's quest for beauty. Truly, we feel it's pains from the moment we believed a lie or called ourselves unworthy, ugly or not beautiful... to the time we believed that a number on a scale, a product or a beauty service could define ourselves and make us beautiful. I've been there! I've been tempted and tested in this area throughout my life as a result of voices from within, messages from the world and media, comments from others and what I chose to believe and adopt as my basis for self-worth and beauty. In my teen years and into my 20's, I was into modelling, pageants and immersed in the 'beauty biz'  and working in the industry. Although those experiences helped to form me, I also experienced the negative aftermath with an unbalanced focus. As a result of my "Total Makeover" journey experiences, I've come to applaud, embrace and seek after the truths found in this week's study. Beauty does comes from within and only Christ can truly transform us and radiate through us in our womanhood for His glory and our destiny."

Core concepts from True Makeover:

  • Beautiful Design: God's divine design for womanhood is not only right; it's also good and beautiful!
PLUS: A True Woman:
  • exhibits a bride like, passionate, wholehearted devotion to Christ = Beautiful Devotion
  • displays the beauty Christ desires in His Bride = Beautiful Character
  • cultivates a quiet, gentle, amendable disposition = Beautiful Disposition
  • adorns herself with the type of beauty that flows from the inside out = Beautiful DIsplay
